The Righteousness of the King

In week five of A Beautiful Kingdom, our series teaching through the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Orlando Cabrera teaches from Matthew 5:17-20. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He lived the perfect life we never could and became our sinless sacrifice, and everything from Genesis to Malachi points to Him. Our good works will never earn our way into God’s kingdom. Only Jesus’ righteousness can. Because we’re freed from legalism, we can rest in His finished work and obey Him with grateful hearts, not to be loved but because we’re loved.
