Put on the Armor (Ephesians 6)

Ephesians 6:14-20 The Whole Armor of God

God has given us everything we need to stand firm. Our job isn’t to manufacture the armor; it’s to put it on.

What does it look like to put it on?

1) We have been given the truth that holds us together. (v. 14a)

The enemy’s primary weapon has always been deception.

John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

2) We have been given armor that protects what matters most. (v. 14b-17)

Breastplate of Righteousness

Shoes of the Gospel

Shield of Faith

Helmet of Salvation

Sword of the Spirit

3) We have been given prayer, that activates everything. (v. 18-20)

We can claim authority under attack.
