Reflecting the Heart of the King

In week two of A Beautiful Kingdom, our series teaching through the Sermon on the Mount, Pastor Orlando Cabrera teaches from Matthew 5:7-9. The first Beatitudes show the posture of a heart that knows it’s spiritually bankrupt. These next three show what God’s Spirit does through that heart: we show mercy because we’ve been shown mercy, we pursue a heart purified by God, and we work for peace because we have peace with God. These aren’t conditions for entering the kingdom. They’re evidence that we belong to it and that we’re growing to look more like our King.
