Children are of utmost importance to us here at Summit Church. It’s the desire of our staff and exceptional volunteers to partner with parents to teach children how Jesus Christ is the hero of the entire story of the Bible. We believe that making disciples starts at home, so we want to walk alongside of parents and families to help equip them to lead their children well.

what to expect if you're new.

Our host team will direct you to our Summit Kids check-in station. Once there, our friendly check-in staff will help you register your child and assign you a security number that is unique to your family. Our host will then accompany you and your child to their age appropriate group. While you are worshipping, your child will be in a safe and nurturing environment. After the service you will return to where your child was dropped off and present your security number to our volunteers.

If for any reason we need to contact you during the actual service, your child’s security number will be displayed on the screens. Simply leave the service and return to where your child was dropped off.

Our Summit Kids learn about Jesus in a safe and nurturing environment through Bible stories, crafts, snacks and games. Older preschool children also participate in an energetic large group session consisting of worship music, videos and storytelling.

Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade experience the excitement of a high-energy large group environment with worship, Bible teaching and games. They also connect with their peers in age-appropriate small groups designed to draw them closer to God.

The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered curriculum that we use to teach chronologically through the entire Bible in three years, showing how Christ is the central figure of God’s word and plan. This curriculum is large group and small group based, and each child has the opportunity to journal what God is teaching them.

All age groups, from pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, will learn the same story each week, but it is tailored to each grade level’s learning ability. As the children move up a grade, they will continue on the same chronological plan they started at. We also resource parents with tools in order to help them engage their children about the weekly lesson.

I volunteer for so many reasons. I absolutely love it! I couldn’t be more thankful for all that has come out of my experience in serving here! It has been such a blessing to give my heart and time to these kids. I learn so much from teaching the bible stories and relating them all back to Christ and the gospel. I grew up hearing these stories and taking away core values from them, but never was shown how Christ is fully involved through it all. I love how the kids get to experience God’s word this way and how I can even apply those Christ connections to my everyday life.
