Communications Assistant
Part-Time, 12-16 hours
Role Summary
The Communications Assistant supports the Communications Director and team by providing administrative, organizational, and project management assistance. This role helps ensure the smooth flow of communication and coordination between departments, oversees project details through Monday.com, and assists with managing the director’s schedule and workload.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about church communications and creative ministry.
Qualifiations
Enjoys both people and processes, possessing both the organizational skills to keep the Communications department on track and the people skills to manage relationships on staff
1-2 years of administrative assistance or executive assistance experience is ideal, but may be substituted with organizational skills displayed in a marketing agency or other creative setting
Familiarity with monday.com or a similar project management platform like Asana, Basecamp, etc. is preferred
Heart for the local church, deepening relationship with Jesus Christ, and desire to utilize his/her gifts to further His Kingdom
Self-starting attitude, creative problem solving, and excitement about what God is doing through the local church is a must
Responsibilities
Administrative Support
Handle correspondence and follow-up with staff and ministry leaders regarding communications requests and ongoing projects
Monitors the central and campus-specific calendars to anticipate Communications needs, and follows up with ministry departments as needed
Help prioritize tasks, projects, and communications to support overall team efficiency
Manage the Communications department’s calendar, meetings, and deadlines
Take meeting minutes, as necessary, and distribute to the appropriate team members
Project Coordination & Communication
Serve as a key point of contact between the Communications Department and other church ministries
Manage and monitor requests and projects through Monday.com, assigning tasks to the appropriate Comms team members, and ensuring deadlines are met and details are accurate.
Work Schedule
The Communications Assistant will work 12-16 hours per week in Summit Church - University Campus offices from Monday-Thursday.
